The designer of a modern vapor cycle air conditioning system for light aircraft must resolve a number of conflicting design challenges. Some of these challenges include: minimizing installed weight, proper center of gravity location, integrity of structural modifications, limiting aerodynamic drag, maximizing cooling capacity, efficiently delivering cooled air to aircraft occupants, reducing compressor power requirements, minimizing electrical power requirements, and making the unit easy to install and maintain. These kits are the lightest systems available and offer true modern automotive air conditioning performance utilizing the latest components available. With a new style of flexible, lightweight, small diameter reinforced refrigerant hose, we have been able to provide protection against condensation in the airframe and reduce the weight of the hose and the number of connections required. These new air conditioning systems utilize the more environmentally friendly R134A refrigerant. All of these kits come complete with all fittings, hoses, hardware, wiring harness and fabricated pieces necessary for installation included. The installer supplies only the refrigerant.
